Rogaine on Steroid to Stop Hair Loss

Minoxidil and Hair Growth

You know years ago I glopped a bunch of Rogaine on my head to try and grow some peach fuzz on the top of my head because the FDA said I could.

Now anyone suffering from male pattern baldness or female hair loss isn't looking for peach fuzz. We want hair and Rogaine typically was not the answer.

However, these days, every doctor and mad scientist is screwing around with minoxidil to make it better, faster and stronger and some of these brews will help you stop hair from falling out.

Which Minoxidil Formula Will Work Best?

Using Minoxidil topically to grow hair was discovered by chance. Minoxidil was originally developed to treat hypertension, but patients taking Minoxidil started growing unwanted hair. This side effect led to the testing of using topical Minoxidil to grow hair on balding sites.

Both males and females may use generic Minoxidil. Generic Minoxidil comes in two concentrations, mainly 2% and 5%. It is recommended that males use Generic Minoxidil 5% whilst females use Generic Minoxidil 2%.

Minoxidil works best on the crown. Why Minoxidil works remains a mystery. Generic Minoxidil is a vasodilator and may increase the blood supply to the follicles. Minoxidil has to be applied twice a day to the affected area for at lest six months. Since it is applied locally, Generic Minoxidil is relatively safe as negligible amounts are absorbed in the bloodstream.

There are now so many variations of Minoxidil out there that choosing the right one is nearly impossible because everyone is trying to sell you something. The important part is to use one of them because even though it will probably not help grow your hair back it will slow the hairloss down.

I try to keep it simple: I use Rogaine 5% because it is readily available and inexpensive. Then I put a few drops of rosemary oil and liquid saw palmetto extract in as well. Rosemary has long been associated with hair health and saw palmetto is a natural DHT blocker used by many hair loss sufferers. All of these items can be found at
